dbStract V3 Updates

April 24th, 2008

I know, I wanted to finish v3 before now, but in the middle of the redesign, our daughter was born, so I took some time off for that.

Now, I am back to work on dbStract v3, and it is shaping up nicely.

The system is coming together quickly, and there are only a couple things left to do before I take it out of beta.

In the meantime, we’ve got more and more people signing up for dbStract, so I’ll be sending out invites for them to check out the beta of v3 sometime in the next couple weeks.

dbStract Updates

December 13th, 2007

The last couple days have been spent doing some updates to the user interface for dbStract.com.

We’ve moved from using open source javascript libraries to using our own in-house library, which means a few areas of dbStract has been redone.

Our form validation now uses our library, as well as several other areas.

In the next month or so, we will be getting more features added as well, complete with a whole new suite of tools to use for embedding your databases onto your website seamlessly :)

Basically, gonna be a fun 2008.

Updates and a new site…

December 3rd, 2007

So, we have a new project launching shortly that should be keeping everyone happy when it does.

Also, we have launched ChatPiece.com, which is a plug-and-play chat room widget for creating your own chat rooms to place on existing websites or blogs.

We have other plans for that project soon, but first let’s let people beta test it :)

The rewrite of dbStract is 95.999999999999% done.

There are just a few things left to do, and that’s mostly estethic items, which will be done within the next couple of days.

Our beta testers have had positive reviews and have been loving the new site.

So many ideas…..

April 20th, 2007

As the rewrite progresses, I keep getting more and more ideas to add in.

This update is definitely making the site a whole new site and should be a pretty interesting experience for everybody involve.

New Field Types

April 16th, 2007

One new and cool feature we’ve added to dbStract is a field type called “Link to Entry”.

This lets you create a database, and in that database create a table called products (or whatever name you want to use), then you can create another table called bug tracker and in bug tracker, you can have a field that is linked to products.

Then when you enter new entries into bug tracker, you can choose what product the bug is for.

We’ve also added a field type called “Workgroup Users”, this lets you have a dropdown list that is populated with users from your workgroup (for people with an account that can have more than one user).

These new features are helping shape dbStract into a lean, mean, database machine.

dbStract v2 update

April 15th, 2007

Work on version 2 of dbStract has been continuing on schedule, and we are still aiming for the May 1st date for the relaunch.

The site has seen a huge restructuring as part of our version 2 overhaul with some features being added that had been planned since our first launch a year ago.

This shows some great promise and our beta testers have had some excellent feedback as they’ve been playing with the new features.

Keep watching, as we take you into new territory. :)
